Passhai Vendor – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Passhai Technologies Private Limited (“Passhai Technologies”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information in the Passhai Vendor Android application (the “App”). The App is intended only for registered street cart vendors who have been verified and onboarded into the Passhai network.

This policy applies solely to the Passhai Vendor app. It does not cover our household WhatsApp proximity service or other web properties.

1. What the Vendor App Does

The Passhai Vendor app allows registered street vendors to:

• Log in securely with their verified phone number via OTP
• Toggle their Day ON / Day OFF status with a single tap
• Broadcast their live cart location while Day is ON so nearby opted-in households receive arrival notifications

To deliver this functionality, the app requests access to:

• Your phone number (for authentication and vendor identity)
• Your location (to send periodic proximity pings while online)

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account & Profile Data

When you log in or onboard as a vendor, we store:

• Phone number (E.164 format) (e.g., +917XXXXXXXXX)
• Vendor name and cart category (vegetables, fruits, household essentials)
• Active operational status and daily online/offline state

2.2 Location Data (Foreground Service Only)

When you tap “Start Day”, the app:

• Starts an Android foreground location service with a visible persistent notification
• Sends battery-efficient location pings roughly every 2 minutes when movement of ~40m is detected

When you tap “End Day”, all location collection ceases immediately. We do not request background location access (ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION).

2.3 Technical Diagnostics

Limited diagnostic logs (app version, Android OS version, crash logs) are collected strictly for system reliability and performance tuning.

3. How We Use Information

1. Authenticate Vendors: Validate that phone numbers belong to verified vendors.
2. Alert Neighborhoods: Compute proximity between active cart pings and opted-in residential locations.
3. Reliability & Safety: Prevent spam, debug route delivery issues, and protect vendor livelihoods.

We never sell vendor data to third-party advertisers or broker location tracking.

4. Third-Party Infrastructure

• Google Firebase: Secure authentication and encrypted database infrastructure.
• Google Play Services: Battery-efficient device location coordinate retrieval.

5. Vendor Choices & Controls

• Start / End Day: Control exactly when location pings are active.
• Android Permissions: Grant or revoke location permissions in OS settings at will.
• Account Deletion: Contact vendor support to pause your profile, or request permanent removal as described in section 6.

6. How to request deletion of your data

You can ask us to delete your Passhai Vendor account and your vendor profile and location history at any time. Email [email protected] using the format below.

• Verification: before deleting anything, we will send a verification code on WhatsApp to the registered mobile number in your request. Reply to our email with that code to confirm the request came from the account holder. Requests that are not confirmed with the correct code will not be processed.
• Timeline: once your code is confirmed, deletion is completed within 4–7 business days, and we will confirm by email when it is done.
